Greetings Flyer Families,

Last week was a great start to our season, and we were so glad to welcome both new and familiar faces to the team! 

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THIS WEEK, April 21–24: 

• NO PRACTICE: Tuesday, April 22
• PAYMENTS: We will collect registration fees this week at the pool during practices. 
• BIG HOUSE BEANS FUNDRAISER, April 21–May 9: This Monday & Thursday, come sample coffee and find out more about this exciting fundraiser! See info below. 
• DINE AND DONATE, Thursday, April 24, 11am–8pm: California Fish Grill, 2910 Ygnacio Valley Rd, Walnut Creek. 25% of all sales will be donated to the team! Use code FUND2025 when ordering online or mention our event at the cashier.
• All swimmers must sign in for practice. Sign-in sheets will be at the pool entrance.
• TEAM SUITS: Team Suit Store is closed for personalized gear, but suits can still be purchased. Click HERE for order info, including sizing guide and spirit wear. Order soon to get suits by time trials (orders take 15-18 business days to arrive).  
• Save-the-Date: May 9, Parent Night and May 17, Time Trials & BBQ (see below)

GENERAL INFO

PRACTICES

• Our schedule continues as follows (Monday–Thursday) except this week, no practice Tuesday, 4/22 

• Coaches may ask your swimmer to attend a different practice based on their ability.
• Parent/swimmer Supervision Policy: Ages 10 and under need a designated guardian on site when they are at the pool, including practice time. Ages 11 and up, supervision is only provided during swim practice times. Coaches are not responsible for supervision before or after practice times, so a designated guardian should be present for drop off and pick up before and immediately after practice.
• Practice Policies:
  • Swimmers may enter the pool only when coaches direct them to.
  • Parents: Refrain from talking to coaches on deck during practice sessions and stay in lanai or other areas away from the deck.
• Mini-Flyers:
  • Mini-Flyers will line up on yellow circles next to the pool and wait for coaches to direct them to lanes.
  • For minis ages 8 and under, with sharpie marker, write your child’s name on their back left shoulder. 

FUNDRAISING 

• BIG HOUSE BEANS FUNDRAISER, April 21–May 9: We are grateful to partner with this very special business, operated by one of our very own FP families. Swimmers may sell dark and medium roast coffee beans to friends/family at $20/bag. 40% of all sales will go back to the team and count towards your individual fundraising total ($8 a bag)! Prizes will be awarded for the number of bags sold as well as the top selling family. April/May are the perfect time to buy coffee as gifts for Mother’s Day, Father's Day, and graduates! Sample this Monday/Thursday. 
• SPONSORSHIP: We're still looking for 2025 FPST Sponsors! We offer 4 levels of sponsorship with accompanying benefits packages, including credit towards team and/or club membership. Confirm your sponsorship by April 30 in order to get your company logo on team shirts and swim meet advertising.

JOBS

• Parent participation is essential to running successful swim meets and programs. Every job is vital, and your involvement makes it all come together.
• Job sign-ups will happen during two windows:
  • Window 1: May 10-12–Covering events and meets from May 17–June 22
  • Window 2: June 15-17–Covering events and meets from June 23–July 30

• Don’t miss Parent Night, May 9, 5-7 pm, at the pool. Kids are welcome, and there will be ice cream! Meet other families and board members and get up to speed on all the awesome things happening this season, including our many social events!
