Team Events and Fundraisers
We offer a variety of fun events to build community and increase team cohesion and to raise funds. While the schedule may change year to year, there are some that are the mainstay that children and families look forward to every year.
Some of these events are free, and some require an additional fee.
Below is the list of the social events of this season.
Welcome Back BBQ
Right after Time Trials the team has a BBQ to celebrate the start of the season. Every meet has a party feel, but this one is just a little bit extra!
Swim-a-thon
This is one of the big fundraisers for our Team. Swimmers sign up to swim laps for an hour, and raise money by collecting pledges. As the event approaches you will receive a 99 Pledges email so you can begin collecting donations online. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to count laps or drop off or serve food for our hungry swimmers. At the end of their hour, the swimmers get to soak the coaches!
Note: The money raised counts towards your fundraising requirements
Picture Day
Every year we take a team picture so you can remember this fun time in your swimmer's life. In addition to team pictures in which everyone participates, swimmers can schedule a session to take individual, buddy, or sibling photos.
Movie Day
Every year the team picks a movie, date, time and location and we all go to the movies together. Each family is responsible for their ticket and snacks, but good company is guaranteed.
Buddy Night
Saturday June 14 5:30pm to 8:00pmPrice: $15 per Swimmer ($20 per Swimmer after June 11)
A fun costume party with food, games, and music! This year the theme is "Camp Forest Park", be creative! You can even get your buddy group together for a group costume! Coaches will also be there to join in the fun! There is no lifeguard/no swimming during the party. There is a door monitor. After buddy night, all high school swimmers can stay for a water polo game. We ask that the little ones go home promptly, flying water polo balls hurt! This is a drop-off event, but parents are welcome to sign up to chaperone.
Beach Day
What's an ocean if not a big pool with sand? Come have fun with the team on beach day.
Jeff's 4th of July Party
Every year Coach Jeff throws a big 4th of July party at the pool. In addition we also have a silent auction. Come have fun and raise funds with us!
Carb Up Events
While practice is crucial for getting the best swim time, nutrition plays a role too. The evening before our two big events, East County Invitational and City Meet, the team organizes a potluck dinner to help our swimmer get that energy stored up. It may be a pasta feed, a potato bar, or something else, but one thing is guaranteed - it's always fun!
Age Group Events
To help our swimmer bond, each year a parent from each age group organizes a fun activity for the kids to do together. Look out for the email from that parent with more specific information of what it is for your children. Usually a fee is associated with this event to help cover costs.
Spirit Week
When it's almost time for City Meet, it's time to show your spirit. Every day there will be a spirit activity during practice. So watch out for that email with more details.
City Meet Awards
The City Meet is the end of the season for most of our swimmers. We expect every swimmer to attend, and therefore a lot of our swimmers, and the team as a whole, will undoubtedly earn their place in the finals in some of the events. On Sunday after the meet is done, come and celebrate all the swimmers and their achievement at this meet.
Fiesta Night
After the season has ended, there is one last party - the Fiesta Night. It is also awards night. It is here that we bring the season to a close and celebrate all the achievements of our swimmers during the season. Read more about the awards a swimmer can earn HERE
