FPST Update: May 24 Meet Info, Swim-A-Thon, Team Photo, and MORE!
Good evening Flyers,
We had a fantastic first dual meet! It was awesome to see so many swimmers high-fiving and shaking hands with the other team’s swimmers at the end of the races. We encourage our Flyer Families to continue extending that kind of welcome to visiting teams throughout the season.
Here’s important about meets and some upcoming team events and fundraisers:
PRACTICE UPDATES:
- NO PRACTICE on the following dates:
- Mini Flyers will not practice May 26 - May 30 as coaches have school finals.
- Minis who have been designated as meet ready, still participate in Wednesday, May 28 meet.
- May 26, June 2 & 3, No practices for any age group
- Click HERE to see the morning schedule and if needed, evening practice times.
- No evening practice option for Mini-Flyers.
MEET UPDATES:
- See the meet line up for the season HERE. (Looking ahead, Wednesday, May 28, AWAY meet at Forest Hills)
- TOMORROW (Saturday, May 24) we swim at HOME, Forest Park (vs. Sun Valley)
- Meet start at 9 am
- FPST warm-ups: 7:55-8:25 am (make sure not to block driveways when parking)
- BUDDY ACTIVITY: Bring your buddy their favorite snack.
- Meet program will be posted by tomorrow morning to the individual meet tile on our calendar page, but upon arrival ALL swimmers/parents must check the Heat/Lane bulletin board (by the awning/covered area by pool) to confirm final assignments as they can change from the time the meet program is sent out to the start of the meet. Any last-minute changes will be reflected in the sheets on the bulletin board.
- Family Seating: We need to make space for the visiting team. FPST should set up closer to the lanai side of the grass. See attached picture that shows our section.
- Ages 8 and Under (including minis) should additionally have their name and age written on the back right shoulder. See attached photos.
- 8 and Under Shepherding (including minis): Several events in advance, swimmers ages 8 and under should be brought by parents to the covered awning area next to the pool. Shepherds should not need to leave their station to find swimmers. The volunteer Shepherd will help swimmers line up in event lane order on the yellow circles and bring them each to their blocks/assigned lane.
- If you missed the sign-out deadline and still need to sign out or there is another issue like your swimmer is missing from the meet program, please contact Coach Jeff asap, [email protected] or speak with him at the meet.
OPEN JOB ALERT: We have ONE Shepherd 7/8 Boys position still open for tomorrow’s meet. Click HERE, login, sign up, and earn some points!
JOBS: For our home meet, all volunteers should check in at the Jobs Table at least 15-20 minutes in advance of their shift, so we know if there are positions we need to fill.
- Timers will need to check in by 8:40 am at the jobs table. Timers will be called to their seats 15 minutes ahead of the meet at 8:45 am.
- At 8:45 am, any runner and relief timers should meet at the Meet Desk.
