Hello Flyer Families,

The last few days were filled with fun and excitement - from our team photo to movie day to Saturday’s meet followed by an amazing Buddy Night! Thank you to Chris and Amanda for capturing our awesome team and to all the parents who helped make Buddy Night truly memorable for our swimmers! 

Here’s some important info for this week, including job openings we need to fill for this Wednesday's meet (please read through to the end):

FAST SUITS & MORE FOR SALE: Olympian Roque Santos will be at the pool on Thursday, 6/19,  8:30-11:30 am with A3 technical suits, goggles, etc. for sale. 

FROM COACH JEFF: Have your swimmer check out this great video on racing starts!  

EVENING PRACTICE (M, T, TH)–Note our recently modified times:

• 5:30-6:00 pm: 8 and Under (no Mini-Flyer evening practices)
• 5:30-6:15 pm: 9/10s
• 6:15-7:15 pm: 11 and Up

There is still evening practice this Monday, 6/16. Some coaches will be at Middle Ages and others will run practice.

TEAM T-SHIRTS: They're here! Find a board member during practice to grab your swimmer's shirt (Mini Flyers get a shirt too!). We also have extra shirts available for purchase ($20) - the whole family can show some team spirit!

MEET INFO:
Have you checked out this awesome board (near the entrance of pool)? Coach Jeff posts meet results, notes for individual swimmers, DQ explanations, and a day or so before, the swimmer event assignments for the upcoming meet. Make sure to stop by! 

6/16, MIDDLE AGES INVITATIONAL, 5:00 pm. If your swimmer is participating, you should have received a separate email. 

6/18, AWAY MEET vs. Dewing Park, 2016 Olympic Blvd, Walnut Creek,
MEET START: 5:00 pm; WARM UPS: 4:30 pm
JOBS: We need shepherds for our 8 and unders. This role is important to making sure our youngest swimmers confidently get to the blocks on time. Sign up HERE.  

Most volunteers should check in at our Jobs Check-In Table (or purple pop-up tent) at least 15 minutes in advance. Timers need to check in 20 minutes in advance. Timers will be called to their seats around 15 minutes ahead of the meet at 4:45 pm.

PARKING: Come early; parking is tight. If the parking lot is full, you will need to find parking on Olympic Blvd. or the side streets. Please be mindful of the narrow neighborhood side streets and adhere to the parking signs and cones to avoid getting towed. Do not leave valuables in your cars.
TEAM AREA: Our team area will be located on the grass area near the diving well and behind the wading pool.  
FOOD: They will have a full snack shack – come hungry! We will reach out with more information regarding food before the meet.
MEET PROGRAM/SHEET: Meet Program is posted to the individual meet tile on our calendar page and on home page, right column.

• COACH'S APPRECIATION WEEK: It is a tradition for us to celebrate our coaches by bringing them some yummy food! Each week is hosted by a different age group.
  • This week, June 16-20 is sponsored by Ages 9/10s - sign up to bring something HERE.
  • Big shout-out to Tori for coordinating last week and to all the 8 and under families who helped make our coaches feel extra special. 
  • We are looking for a 13 and Up parent to coordinate next week’s meals (June 23-27). Contact Raenelle if you are interested. This is a job that earns points.

• SWIMMER PHOTOS: We are trying to find another day for individual/sibling/buddy photos for those who weren’t able to make it this last Friday. Stay tuned!
