FPST Important Update: All Things CITY MEET
Hi Flyers Families,
We are ramping up for a fantastic FPST weekend! Below is all things for getting ready for and during City Meet. Please read carefully!
Today/Friday: Add a note of appreciation to each Coach's bag on the picnic tables.
TODAY, Thursday, 7/24, 5-7 pm, Potato Bar, Car Decorating, & Optional Hair Dyeing: Load up on carbs, decorate your car for City, decorate a plate for your buddy (if you won't be here Friday morning).
Optional Hair Dyeing: For those interested in having their hair dyed (dye is semi-permanent, no full head - just streaks/highlights), a former Forest Park Swim Team member has offered to dye swimmer’s hair (a parent must be present and give permission). The service is free but tips are welcomed and recommended!
Friday, 7/25: Decorate a paper plate for your buddy to be displayed at City Meet. (If you will not be at this practice, decorate a plate at Potato Bar). Practice is optional for those swimming IM Friday night.
SPECIAL BUDDY ACTIVITY: Decorate and give an encouraging poster to your Buddy that is attending City Meet. Hang it up in your tent to show your flyer spirit.
CITY MEET - General Info
Concord Community Pool | 3501 Cowell Rd, Concord, CA 94518 | July 25-27, 2025
Meet programs: Go on sale at 1 pm, Friday, at the pool
Set Up: Families may set up after 12 pm on Friday and no earlier
Team Area & Rules: See this MAP, we are outside the pool. We will have a small area inside for hospitality and our coaches.
- Limit food and drink to team areas, not the pool deck.
- Use of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Organizers will call the police to arrest individuals in violation of this policy.
- Since our area is outside, leaving things may not be possible. Items may be left in our inside team area, but note that space may be limited and not available.
- It WILL be WINDY again this year. The Pool has asked that any large trash item (like a broken pop-up) be taken back by the family to be disposed of. In general, let's leave our area cleaner than we found it!
Parking: There will be reduced parking available. Families are encouraged to only bring one vehicle to the swim meet and to be courteous to the neighbors when parking in nearby neighborhoods. We are being asked to park respectfully, not block driveways, not litter in their yards, and not loiter in front of their houses.
SPIRIT/SPORTSMANSHIP: Let's represent our FP friendly and fun spirit!
- Spirit clips: Hand them out to other teams and spread some cheer. Make sure they have <3 FPST or some other identifier that they are from our team.
- Remind swimmers to high five/shake hands with swimmers in lanes next to them and to thank timers after their events.
- Cheer on your teammates and be kind/encouraging to swimmers from other teams!
- See below for note about the Team Parade at lunch time on Saturday.

SWIMMER EVENTS: To see your swimmer’s events click HERE. If you are signed up for an event for a day that you will not be attending, please contact Coach Jeff to let him know asap, [email protected].
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT RELAYS: Another email will be sent shortly with photos of relays (or see display at pool), to check if your child is signed up to swim in a relay. In some cases, there are A thru C relay teams, so please do not assume your child is not swimming. If your child is listed but does not have a number, they are an alternate. We found out that D relays will not be allowed so those swimmers are also alternates for the other relay teams.
SPECIAL NOTE: Help swimmers not have false starts! The City Meet team is asking that when you hear the long whistle, which brings the kids on to the blocks, we have quiet for the start. As much as you would like to cheer on your swimmer please make sure we do have quiet. Sometimes our swimmers are not able to tell the difference between the starter and a parent yelling, “Let’s go!” Once the race has started and the kids are in the pool feel free to yell as loud as you can!
F-L-Y-E-R-S, Flyers, Flyers are the best! GO FLYERS! We are grateful for each and every FLYER Family!
