FPST News, June 22-28: Coach Appreciation, Pasta Feed, Coach for a Day, and MORE!
Greetings Flyer Families,
Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing dads! And a huge thank you to everyone who made Buddy Night possible - it was an evening full of fun and aloha spirit.
There’s A LOT of exciting things happening the next five weeks; keep an eye out for more emails this week/updates to our website to keep track of all the things and celebrate our swimmer’s accomplishments. Let’s make the rest of our season memorable!
Please read to the end...
Coach Appreciation Meals: Let's show our amazing coaches how much we love them! We have Monday covered, but need the team’s help with LUNCH for this Thursday, June 25 (set up by 10:00 am).
- Visit our team website calendar page, login and sign up to set up/clean up (receives job points) or to donate food, drinks, and paper goods. If you have questions email Jeanine at [email protected].
Pasta Feed, this Friday, June 26, 5–7 pm at the pool: It's an awesome tradition for swimmers and their families to get together at the pool to carb up before some of our invitationals (all swimmers are welcome whether or not they are participating in Battle of the Ages).
- So we may plan accordingly RSVP AND sign up to bring something on our calendar HERE (it says jobs sign up on the button, but it's actually for food sign up).
- The pool will be open to the team, but swimmers should promptly be done by 7 pm in order to rest for Battle of the Ages.
- We will meet in the back patio area. The pool will also be open for swim club members, so we request our families to assist ensuring the team is helping maintain a respectful and positive shared environment.
Home Meet vs. Geringher Park, Wednesday, 5:15 pm | Warm Up, 4:15 pm
- Reminder: For DUAL or TRI meets, swimmers are automatically signed up (Coach Jeff adds all swimmers to the meet, but it shows as undeclared in SwimTopia).
- Sign out by Monday, 12 pm. If after the deadline, email both Coach Jeff, [email protected] and Amy, Meet Director, [email protected].
- We have a few more jobs open. Thank you for signing up and helping to make our meets a success!
- 8 & Under: Don’t forget to bring your swimmers a few events before to the basketball court area to line up. Shepherds should not have to look for swimmers around the pool.
- Relays: Check whether or not your swimmer is part of a relay. Relay teams should meet a few events ahead of time to be ready. If you do not want your swimmer to be part of a free relay, let Coach Jeff know, [email protected].
Individual Goals: Coach Jeff has made individual goals for each of our swimmers. Your swimmer should have received a goal sheet. If not, more info about all our achievement awards will be sent this week, including how to access your swimmer’s goals on SwimTopia.
- COACH FOR A DAY: Attached to the email is a list of the swimmers who have already achieved two of their goals and get the opportunity to be Coach for a Day at a practice that is not their own practice time. Congrats!
- A sign up sheet is available with coaches at the pool. Please remind your swimmer to sign up.
LOOKING AHEAD:
- Battle of the Ages, June 27-28
- NO PRACTICE: June 29 (Team Beach Day) and July 2 and July 3 (4th of July break).
- Coach Jeff’s 4th of July Party, July 4 at the pool
- FPST Pop-up Invitational, Sunday, July 12, 9 am-2 pm
- Torture Week: Ages 11 & Up, July 6-10 | Ages 10 & Under, July 13-17
GO FLYERS!
Best,
