FPST Update: Potato Bar, Hair/Shirt Dyeing, City Meet Jobs, Relays, Warm-ups & MORE!

Hello Flyer Families,

A few important reminders and requests–

POTATO BAR & CAR DECORATING, TONIGHT 5-7 pm:

If you haven’t already, please sign up HERE to bring an item for tonight’s meal. We are in particular need of one more bag of baked potatoes, grilled onions, and grilled veggies.

  • Tie-dying: City Meet shirt orders will be at the pool, and you will have a chance to tie-dye it if your swimmer did not get to this morning or yesterday.
  • Optional Hair Dyeing: For those interested in having their hair dyed (dye is semi-permanent, no full head - just streaks/highlights), a former Forest Park Swim Team member has offered to dye swimmer’s hair (a parent must be present and give permission).
    • There will be a sign up when you arrive. The service is free but tips are welcomed and recommended!

CITY MEET JOBS & FOOD DONATIONS

  • Each participating swimmer's family is required to volunteer for a shift. Go HERE to login and sign up for your job shift and for a food/drink item to bring.
    • In particular we need two people to volunteer as part of the general City Meet set up crew Friday morning at 8 am (setting up chairs, tables, pop-up tents). This is a chance to be job free during all the actual City Meet action!
    • Timer & Runner roles are also essential, and we have openings left.
    • No points are assigned for a first shift, but families who need points and fulfill a 2nd shift will be given points equal to the length of the second shift.
  • By Friday at 1 pm, please sign up for your shift. Families who have not signed up may be assigned to slots that are still open.
  • We love to make sure our swimmers, coaches, and families are fed. Donating food/drinks is greatly appreciated but note that it does not count towards City Meet job fulfillment.

RELAYS

In this FOLDER are photos of the current relay assignments and instructions from Coach Jeff (relays are subject to change, so please check the event assignment board once you arrive at and before you leave City Meet each day).

  • If your child is listed in a relay but does not have a number, they are an alternate.
  • Some swimmers are listed as alternates for an A relay but then are assigned to swim in the B or C relay.
  • There are A-C relays. Please do not leave the meet without checking to see if you are on a relay!
  • See photo HERE for instructions on how relays should check in at Clerk of Course.

CLERK OF COURSE

  • Parents and swimmers are responsible for checking in at Clerk of Course. There are no team shepherds.
  • Follow on IG, @citymeet2026_clerk to follow events and get tips for successfully getting your swimmer to their races. Click HERE for IG profile url.
  • See photo HERE on how to mark your swimmers according to the clerk’s guidelines.
  • See photo HERE for Instructions on how relays should check in at Clerk of Course.

Relay Directions for Teams/Coaches

Please be advised of the following procedures for all 6&U and 7/8 relays:

  • Every relay must report to the Clerk of Course with a designated "shepherd." This can be an adult, swimmer coach, or another responsible individual.
  • The shepherd will remain with the relay until it is time to walk swimmers to the far side of the pool.
  • The shepherd will escort swimmers 2 and 4 to the far side of the pool and then exit the area.
  • Our Clerk of Course officials will direct swimmers 1 and 3 to the coaches stationed behind the starting blocks.

Relay Cards:

  • A relay card will be printed with the names of the swimmers for each relay.Coaches will pick up their team's relay cards in the morning when they pick up their heat sheets.
  • If there are any corrections to the relay lineup, the coaches will mark those changes on the relay card. (Note: this step replaces the old procedure of handing relay changes to the desk by lunch. However, the desk should be notified of scratched relays in the morning with the rest of the scratches.)
  • Each relay team (or their shepherd) must bring their relay card to the clerk of the course to be checked in.
